We asked our PT’s questions our patients may have not known. Check out our Q & A with Ida G. Gutierrez
Q. In what city/town were you born?
A. I was born and raised in Laredo, Texas.
Q. What high school did you graduate from?
A. I am a proud Mustang graduate from J.W. Nixon HS.
Q. Was becoming a Physical Therapist your first option?
A. Yes, since my junior year in high school, I had a calling to be a PT.
Q. What best describes the moment you knew you wanted to be a PT?
A. The first moment I realized I wanted to be a physical therapist was after seeing my aunt with CP get out of her aquatic physical therapy session. She came out with such energy and enthusiasm for life. I told myself at that moment, “I’d like to have that impact on someone.”
Q. Were you nervous when you treated your first official patient as a Physical Therapist?
A. I was nervous with my first patient as a Student PT. However, I was so excited to treat my first official patient as an official licensed PT.
Q. To relax, what are your hobbies?
A. When I’m not at work, I absolutely love to spend time with my family. I love to spend time with my Sisters in Christ, especially in faith formation and to support each other on our spiritual journey. I like watching my kids play at their sporting events, and I enjoy watching the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys with family and friends.
Q. Do you have a favorite TV show past or present, and why is/was it your favorite?
A. My ultimate favorite TV show was and continues to be Friends. It reminds me of great moments with my friends and never fails to make me laugh.
Q. Is music important in your work environment?
A. Yes, I love to listen to Christian music while I work! It reminds me of God’s love for us and how we work as HIs instruments for love, peace, and healing.
Q. What does LSMC mean to you?
A. LSMC is family; family that is here for our community. I love our team of dedicated professionals working together to make a positive difference in Laredo Healthcare.
